BSI recently produced new designs and merchandise for Ray Davies’ solo “Americana” live gigs, including a prestigious sold out show at London’s Union Chapel.
The unique shows included acoustic performances from Ray Davies of classic Kinks songs, readings from his new book “Americana” and short films shot on the road by Ray himself, including poignant footage shot on the road in the USA in the weeks after 11th Sept 2001. Ray also premiered five as-yet -unrecorded new songs based on stories from the book.
Alongside signed copies of the book, two new T shirt designs were sold at the shows; a classic “Established 1964″ Kinks T shirt to mark this years 50th anniversary of the band, and an “Americana” design to tie in with the recently published book.
With the “Sunny Afternoon” musical launching next month, Dave Davies’ first UK show in 13 years at The Barbican in April and a years worth of re-issues planned to mark the 50th Anniversary, 2014 will be the busiest year for Kinks activity in over a decade.
BSI Merch will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary with a new range of unique merchandise, available globally for retail for the first time.
